JUDY BAILEY

(MC for The New Zealand Tattoo)

Judy Bailey is a writer and broadcaster living in Auckland. She fronted primetime news for twenty six years, becoming one the most recognised faces in New Zealand. On leaving TVNZ, she fronted Maori Television’s ANZAC Day programme for nine years and has since been involved in a number of documentaries and television series.

Judy has long been an advocate for children. She is a founding member, trustee and presenter for the Brainwave Trust, an organization that brings the latest research in neuroscience to those who work with children and young families.

She is also an active patron of a number of organisations including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, The National Collective of Women’s Refuges, Hospice North Shore and Skylight Trust.

In 2010 she was created an officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to broadcasting and the community.

She is married to the managing director of South Pacific Pictures, producer and director Chris Bailey, they have three children and seven grandchildren.

Foundation NZ Youth
Pipe Band

The Foundation Youth Pipe Band NZ provides opportunities for its members, aged from 13-20, to gain experience in performance at a high level in New Zealand. To date nearly 200 young people have been through its ranks with most of these young people going on to play with the top bands in New Zealand with some now competing at world championship level.

The Royal New Zealand Navy Band

The Royal New Zealand Navy Band is an extremely versatile ensemble of full time professional military musicians. The Band's primary role is to perform as a military band providing music for the ceremonial, public relations, recruiting and entertainment requirements of the Royal New Zealand Navy, the New Zealand Defence Force and the New Zealand Government.
